VP of Lending – Jesup
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the credit union’s long-and short-term strategic planning.
- Accountable for planning, organizing, and directing the credit union’s collections and centralized lending functions, including real estate.
- Set the Loan Department’s strategic plans to align with the credit union’s business plan. Establish and ensure the implementation of target goals for the department.
- Ensure lending activities with all loan staff results in reaching credit union goals, achieving its greatest volume potential, ensure clear understanding of rules, regulations, requirements and expectations, all with minimal delinquency and charge-off ratios.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with credit union goals and strategies. Work with other departments to maintain consistency in credit union policies and procedures.
- Oversee and monitor the loan function to achieve its strategic goals. Direct the work of loan managers in all lending areas to include underwriting, loan processing, loan documentation, and approval or denial of loans for consumer, mortgage, or business loans.
- Oversee the development and monitoring of performance standards. Provide mentoring, coaching, or training to assist and develop managers and staff.
- Research and evaluate the feasibility of new lending products. Develop and implement plans for expansion of lending programs. Keep abreast of changes in the industry and changing trends in lending and react to changes in a way that maintains competitiveness.
- Coordinate and oversee all loan staff activities – including loan sales, compliance, and product training; weekly team meeting facilitation; timeliness of loan application responses; follow-up on lead generations; departmental reporting; dealer visits and business development activities; completion of title/UCC/insurance work and all other time-sensitive tasks – of the loan department to ensure maximum efficiency and sales goals attainment.
- Represent and promote the credit union at external functions.
- Back up other lending functions as needed.
Other duties involving lending may be assigned. Each employee will additionally be assigned training, including annual Bank Secrecy Act training, that may include testing. Employees will be required to earn a passing grade, as set by the vendor or AFCU. All employees will be required to actively participate in credit union advocacy efforts and are encouraged to contribute to credit union trade advocacy funds, such as CUPAC/CULAC.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor of Business Administration or Finance preferred. Related work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Minimum 10 years in lending management experience with a minimum focus on collections/mortgage/commercial lending with a preference towards credit union operations management experience.
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficiency with electronic delivery systems. Ability to use Adobe or other like software to complete and view fillable documents.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to organize thoughts in written and/ or oral form in a professional and grammatically correct manner, so that the recipient may easily understand the contents.
- Ability to analyze member requests and apply credit union procedures which best serve the member.
- Ability to explain loan documents to members in a manner in which they understand.
- Ability to calculate interest accrued per day on loans. Ability to calculate minor calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and figuring percentages.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to lift up to 5 pounds. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods and to walk to other locations in building as necessary to complete work. Ability to push heavy doors as necessary to gain access to areas needing entry to complete work. Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch to complete other tasks as necessary.

Teller I, II, or III – Jesup
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Teller I:
- Process member transactions on several platforms accurately and efficiently via face-to-face, drive-thru, phone and email. Transactions will include wires and credit card advances.
- Assist members with general account maintenance, including direct deposit and distribution changes, check orders and safe deposit box opening and entry.
- Assist members with internet and home banking usage.
- Act as a call center representative on a rotating basis.
- Act as a float teller (working in other branches) on a rotating basis.
- Discover product and service opportunities and refer them to the appropriate department.
- Perform all other administrative duties as requested.
Teller II – Must meet Teller I criteria in addition to the following:
- Assist members with account maintenance, including account opening; share, certificate and debit/ATM card opening and maintenance; and direct deposit changes, distribution changes, check orders and safe deposit box opening and entry.
- Assist members with IRA maintenance, including contributions and distributions.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of product and service offerings and discover cross-selling opportunities and present those to members and to increase product penetration.
- Perform credit union batch processes and other administrative duties as instructed.
Teller III – Must meet Teller II criteria in addition to the following:
- Assist members with IRA share and certificate opening and closing, as well as IRA maintenance, including contributions and distributions.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma. Cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred, with preference given to work in a financial institution.
- Ability to use basic functions of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to use Adobe or other like software to complete and view fillable documents.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to organize thoughts in written and/ or oral form in a professional and grammatically correct manner, so that the recipient may easily understand the contents.
- Ability to calculate interest earned per term on Certificates of Deposit and per day on loans. Ability to calculate minor calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and figuring percentages.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and to walk to other locations in building as necessary to complete work. Ability to push heavy doors as necessary to gain access to areas needing entry to complete work. Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch to complete other tasks, as necessary.
